The Platinum Arena is a multipurpose sports and entertainment
complex (SEC) intended for holding:
- sports competitions (ice hockey, volleyball, figure-skating, short-track, curling,
boxing, all kinds of wrestling, basketball, ballroom dances and gymnastics);
- concerts of the world-famous stars (opera singers, symphony orchestras, foreign
and home pop stars of modern variety music);
- circus performances;
- exhibitions and fairs, conventions, jubilee celebrations for
organizations and firms. At the corporate parties about 500 quests
may enjoy smorgasbord and amuse themselves in a dance pavilion
fitted with the stage.
The construction of the Platinum Arena started in March, 2000
and was over in three years - in August, 2003.
The complex was designed and built to meet the city demands for
holding large-scale sports events, matches of Russia ice-hockey
championship, games of the national volleyball championship, concerts
and festivals.

Project development work and layout of design documents were
carried out by the Khabarovskgrazhdanprojekt Design Institute and
DONG NAM AH TAE ARCHITECTS ENGINEERING CO., LTD.
Feasibility study and architectural concept were developed by
the Khabarovskgrazhdanprojekt Design Institute
Electrical equipment was supplied by "NAMBUK HEAVY ELECTRIC
CO., LTD.". 
Manufacture and delivery of metalwork was provided by the joint-stock
company, Khabarovsk metalwork plant and the joint-stock company,
Pervouralsk tubular constructional steelworks.
A site of 5.94 hectares chosen for the construction of the Platinum
Arena is located in the Central Administrative district of Khabarovsk,
at the intersection of two city's important transport-pedestrian
arterial roads. The site is bordered by the city's green zone with
its man-made ponds surrounded by vast parkland. The developed area of 4 hectares around the Platinum Arena includes beautiful
fountains, planting of greenery, exterior lighting, and three parking lots for
500 cars.
Within
the framework of the National forum "Sports Industry of Russia" the
sports and entertainment complex Platinum Arena was awarded the
diploma of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation for
its great contribution to establishing the modern industrial, financial
and commercial infrastructure in Russia . Diploma in the nomination "The
best sports building of the year 2003" was handed over to
the Platinum Arena" management by Evgeny Maximovich Primakov,
the President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation.
